Meditation Group

Our participation in the divine life is like a river. Yet, we are so often distracted by what’s going on at the surface that we fail to recognize and honor the Divine Love that sustains our lives. Contemplative prayer is a form of mediation in which we practice letting go of our constant stream of thought. We shift our attention from the boats at the surface to the river itself, thus cultivating the inner peace and stillness that enables us to open our hearts to God. As we enter periods of silence, we express our intention to release the ego, receive compassion, and attune ourselves to the presence of God in all people and everywhere.

If you’re hungering for a deeper spiritual connection, we invite you to explore this practice in the context of a Christian community.

If you’re looking for support as you continue with your existing meditation practice, we welcome you.

If you’re ready to experience meditation for the first time, we welcome you.

The centering prayer/meditation group will meet at Trinity Episcopal Church, Lexington on Wednesday evenings at 7pm, beginning on June 7.
